ABB to give transformers to the Indian Railways
ABB, which a technological company has taken hold of a new opportunity of an order to supply to the Indian Railways around 1600 traction transformers in a bid to expand the capacity of the public carriers. This manufacturing of the transformers will be done in the ABB’s local Vadodara facility to be in sync with the Government’s initiative of ‘Make in India’.
The CEO and Managing Director of ABB India say that the massive scale and amount of this order shows and clearly demonstrates the ability of our company to deliver reliable products that are technologically advanced to local customers by catering to all their needs. He goes on to say that ABB has been working and collaborating with the Indian Railways since a long time along with a French company called Alstom which operates worldwide in rail transportation markets. In addition to that, investments that are made and planned in the sector of railways will only continue to grow and shape the economic growth of India which will open new doors to new and improved innovative technologies in the country.
Traction transformers are mainly equipment that feeds power at a high but safe voltage to run trains and perform essential and necessary train functions like lighting, heating, traction, brakes, and ventilation. These are used all across the world by railway operators.
