The condition of Railways in India today
E-cash payments for Tatkal reservations with MobiKwik partnering with IRCTC to launch
Next, it is a big headache to stand in the reservation counters waiting for our turn to book tickets. It is the world of the internet now, and everything is supposed to be easy for the common man to do all the works with just the swipe of one finger. Taking the strength of internet into consideration, Indian Railways is now collaborating with a company called Mobikwik. This partnership with the IRCTC (the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) aims at making the tatkal payments easier. According to this company, about a thousand tatkal bookings are made every minute and an online payment platform is supposed to make the process of booking the tickets much faster. Apparently, on an average, fifteen percent of the total bookings are made under tatkal. To book a ticket, all the user has to do is to upload their wallet information of credit card/debit card or net banking and then just start booking their tickets and making their payments. This company also offers cash pickup service in major cities such as Bangalore, Jaipur, Surat, Mumbai and New Delhi. The company also has launched the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) which allows the user to transfer money across various banks with just a single identification and password. This E-cash facility can be used over 1, 00,000 online and offline merchants all over India according to their spokespersons.
